Ms Chilinska is a Consultant Ophthalmologist.

An Ophthalmologist looks after eyes.  

She specialises in oculoplastic surgery. This is a type of eye surgery that focuses on the eyelids, the tear ducts, and the area around the eyes. She also performs endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) surgery. This is is an operation to unblock a tear duct.   

Ms Chilinska also runs the Thyroid Eye Disease service at Sunderland Eye Infirmary. Thyroid Eye Disease happens when the body’s immune system causes swelling and irritation around the eyes. This can affect the eyelids, eye muscles, and tissues behind the eyes.
