Delivery Suite

What is the Delivery Suite? 

The Delivery Suite is where people give birth at Sunderland Royal Hospital. 

It has 11 delivery rooms, each with its own bathroom. We also have a birthing pool room if you would like a water birth.

Our Delivery Suite is part of a consultant‑led maternity unit. This means it is the safest place for people with high‑risk pregnancies. This may include a breech baby, a planned caesarean section, high blood pressure, a BMI over 35 or if you are having twins.

Where can I find the Delivery Suite?

The Delivery Suite is at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

You can reach it from the Maternity entrance on the Chester Road side of the building. 

Use the life or stair to go to D Floor.
