Dr Kate Petheram

Dr Kate Petheram is a Consultant Neurologist.

A Neurologist looks after problems with the brain, nerves and spinal cord.  

She has a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and is the MS Lead at STSFT. MS is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord — together called the central nervous system. These parts of the body control movement, feeling, balance, and thinking. 

Dr Petheram is also Co-Chair of the Association of British Neurologists (ABN) MS and Neuroinflammatory Advisory Group, a Medical Advisor to the MS Society, Shift MS and Overcoming MS, is a faculty member of the MS Academy and is Training Programme Director for Neurology in the North East.
