Liz Dawson – Director of Communications and Involvement
Liz graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2004 with a degree in Public Relations. She gained Chartered status from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in 2020. She has post-graduate qualifications in Healthcare Communications and Strategic Marketing. She is also a Nye Bevin Executive Leadership graduate.
Liz joined both South Tyneside and Sunderland in 2017 as Head of Communications. She became Director of Communications and Involvement at Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust in 2019.
She started working for businesses before she joined the NHS in 2009. She worked at the North East Strategic Health Authority and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Liz leads a team that has won lots of awards. She is an experienced director. She is passionate about communication and involvement and the important role this plays in the NHS.
