Andy Hart – Director of Information Management and Technology
Andy joined the NHS in 1993. Before this, he worked at Procter and Gamble. His first NHS role was at City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust where he set up a new IT team to bring in Meditech. This is the Trust’s electronic patient record (EPR). This has now been in place for over 30 years.
Since then, Andy has had lots of different roles across IT and Information Governance. He is now Director of IMT for the Trust.
Under Andy’s leadership, STSFT is now one of the most digitally advanced Trusts in the NHS. The Trust was the first in England to reach Global Digital Exemplar (GDE) status. STSFT also has ‘Level 7’ status from Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMMS). This recognises that STSFT is now paper free at the point of care.
Andy is the former chair of the Meditech EU User Network and is now the finance lead.
