Day of Surgery Admissions Unit (DOSA)

What is DOSA? 

DOSA is where patients come on the day of their planned operation.

The team prepares people for surgery, carries out final checks, and makes sure each patient is ready for their procedure in a safe and calm way.

Staff give clear information about what will happen before, during, and after surgery.

They answer questions, explain any tests or checks needed, and help patients feel at ease.

The team works closely with each person to make sure they understand their care plan.

Where can I find DOSA?

DOSA is located on D Floor of Sunderland Royal Hospital.

You can reach it through the main entrance on Kayll Road.

Follow the signs from the main corridor to get to the ward.
