Dr Rachael Perowne

Dr Perowne is a Consultant in Gastroenterology and Acute Medicine.

Gastroenterology is the part of medicine that looks after the digestive system - the organs that help us eat, digest food and get rid of waste. An Acute Medicine Consultant looks after people who have become poorly quite suddenly. 

She has worked at STSFT since 2016. Her clinical interest is the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Dr Perowne is Director of Undergraduate Clinical Studies and Year 3 Curriculum Lead for the University of Sunderland School of Medicine. She is also a Clinical Supervisor for Foundation Doctors.
