Mr Daniel Dowen

Mr Dowen is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon.

A Trauma Surgeon treats people who are seriously injured in accidents or emergencies. An Orthopaedic Surgeon operates on bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. 

He specialises in hip and knee replacement surgery. He has a special interest in complex and revision (re-do) surgery. He also performs keyhole knee surgery and general trauma surgery.

He was the departmental research lead and regional speciality group research lead. Mr Dowen has been nominated twice for the regional Trauma and Orthopaedics Trainer of the Year award for surgical training.
