Mr Michael Grinton

Mr Grinton is a Consultant Ophthalmologist.

An Ophthalmologist looks after eyes.

He has specialist expertise in medical retina (treating diseases at the back of the eye), emergency eye care, and uveitis (inflammation inside the eye). He also performs cataract surgery. A cataract happens when the lens of the eye becomes cloudy. 

Mr Grinton is Clinical Lead for the Eye Emergency Department at Sunderland Eye Infirmary and is involved in advancing retinal research.
