Mr Jonathan Smith

Mr Smith is an Ophthalmologist.

An Ophthalmologist looks after eyes. 

He is the Clinical Lead for both the Vitreoretinal and Oncology (cancer) services at Sunderland Eye Infirmary. Vitreoretinal surgery is a type of eye surgery that treats problems in the back of the eye, including the retina and the vitreous (the clear, fluid-like jelly inside the eye). 

Mr Smith is also the Clinical Governance Lead for the department. This means he makes sure patients receive safe, high-quality care.
