Alexandra Centre

What is Alexandra Centre?

The Alexandra Centre is a specialist service that supports patients with dementia and delirium at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

The team provides expert care for people who are frail or have memory and thinking problems, helping to make sure they receive safe and personalised support during their stay.

Staff use an in‑reach and outreach service to review and support patients on wards across the hospital.

They work with ward teams to raise standards of care, offer guidance, and help create the best environment for patients with cognitive needs.

The centre also provides an outpatient clinic for people who have had delirium.

This follow‑up visit helps patients and their families understand what happened, ask questions, and get support with their ongoing recovery.

Where can I find Alexandra Centre?

The Alexandra Centre is located on E Floor of Sunderland Royal Hospital.

You can reach it through the main entrance on Kayll Road.

Follow the signs from the main corridor to get to the ward.
