Our car park is always busy. It’s best to leave lots of time to get to your appointment so you can find a space.

You will need to pay for your parking when you leave. Payment machines are at most entrances to the hospital. If you can’t find one, just ask our staff. When you put your details into the payment machine, it will tell you what you need to pay.  You can also use the PayByPhone app.

There are specific parking areas for patients and visitors. Some of our car parks are staff only. Look out for signs telling you if you’re in the right place. We also have areas where you can drop people off or pick people up. You can park here for up to 20 minutes for free.

When parking, you should:

  • Pay the correct fee before you leave. You can do this at a machine or on your phone.
  • Park in a correct space.

Please do not park in, or on:

  • Double yellow lines.
  • Grass verges.
  • Restricted parking spaces like those for Blue Badge or permit holders.
  • Spaces that block entrances, ambulance spaces or other cars.

I have a Blue Badge. Is there parking for me?

Yes. We have accessible bays in our car parks.

Parking is free if you have a Blue Badge. To park for free, you must register your details with us. You can do this by:

If you use more than one car you should register each one.

If you do not register your details, you will get a parking charge notice (PCN) with a fine to pay.

I come to hospital a lot. Can I get free parking?

Yes. If you come to hospital for appointments often then you can apply for free parking. It is up to you to do this.

It only applies if you have three, or more, appointments a month, for three months or more.

To apply for free parking you need to fill in a form. You can download this by clicking here. You will need to include all the days and times you were at appointments. You will also need to give us your parking receipts.

Once you have filled the form in and have your receipts bring them to the main reception at our sites. The team there will help you.

My child needs to be in hospital overnight. Can I get free parking?

Yes. If you are a parent, carer or guardian of a child or young person (under 18) that needs to stay in hospital overnight you can park for free. This is between 7.30pm and 8am while you are visiting.

To get free parking, you will need to complete this form

I have a parking ticket. What do I do?

You will get a parking charge notice (PCN) if you do not pay for parking, or if you park in the wrong space.

You will get a letter and need to pay a fine. There will be instructions on the letter telling you how to pay.

If you think you received a PCN unfairly you can appeal it. You will need to appeal to ParkingEye. Details on how to do this will be on the letter.

What is ParkingEye?

ParkingEye is a system that we use in our car parks. It uses number plate recognition technology. This means there are cameras that take pictures of your number plate when you arrive in the car park and when you leave.

This system can monitor the time you spend in our car park. This is how we work out how much you should pay.
