Mrs Deepali Varma

Mrs Varma is a Consultant Ophthalmologist.

An Ophthalmologist looks after eyes. 

She ispecialises in the retina. The retina is the thin, light‑sensitive layer at the back of the eye. 

Mrs Varma is Director of Research at STSFT and is the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network National Speciality Lead for Ophthalmology.

She is also the President Elect for the North of England Ophthalmological Society, an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a national expert medicolegal witness for the General Medical Council in Ophthalmology and the Honorary Treasurer for the North of England Ophthalmological society.
