This page helps you understand what might happen when you come to Outpatients.

You come to Outpatients for an appointment. You don't need to stay in hospital overnight.

Our doctors, nurses and other staff are here to look after you.

This is a self service check in machine. You can also check in at the reception desk.

They will tell you where you need to wait for your appointment.

They may see how much you weigh.

They may measure how tall you are.

They may take your blood pressure. A strap goes around your arm. It gets a bit tight but does not hurt.

They might want to take some blood. This is the strap they put round your arm when they take blood.

We make sure you get the “Reasonable adjustments” you need when you come to hospital. These are changes that help you get the health care you need.
