Vicky Mitchell – Executive Director of Planning and Business Development
Vicky has worked in the NHS since 2005. She started as a general management trainee on the National NHS Management Graduate Scheme.
Her first placement was as an operational manager at Sunderland Eye Infirmary. She then worked in different roles within healthcare. These include at the European Public Health Alliance in Brussels in Belgium. Vicky then returned to Sunderland Royal Hospital.
She worked in lots of different operations jobs as a Directorate Manager. She then became Head of Theatres at Sunderland Royal Hospital in 2015. She was also Divisional Director for Family Care at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and Divisional Director for Clinical Support.
Vicky became Director of Planning and Business Development in 2025. She has worked on different projects across the Trust. This included helping to launch Meditech. This is an electronic health record. She also works with commissioners in health and local authorities as a member of different groups.
